This article shows how to check your network configuration in linux and make changes to it if necessary.
step-1. Right click On the network icon. This will open a drop down window as shown below.
Note:
1. The cursor in the image below points to the network applet. The network applet looks like this when you have disabled the network or when there is no cable
connected or if your Lan port or LAN cable has a problem.

2. If there are no such problems as mentioned in 1 then network applet looks like the one in the second snap shot. The small arrow points to the network applet.

Step-2.Select "'Edit connections" in the menu. This will open a new window as sown below.

Step-3 Select the connection you want to edit (or look at the datails) by clicking on it. After selecting the connection click on the edit button and select ipv4 settings. This will open a window as shown below.

Step-4. If you find your settings are incorrect you can change them by clicking at the feild you want to change.

Step-5. Click on apply and enter your password in the feild shown below.

Step-6. Please click on the network applet to reconfigure the nework.This completes the network configuration in Linux.
